The Rotary Club of Forest Lake cordially invites you to partner with us in your organization’s fundraising efforts by participating in our Winter Plunge.
To date, this event has raised over 1 MILLION DOLLARS for non-profit and community organizations! It is easy to participate! Just form a team, pick the non-profit organization your fundraising efforts will benefit, and start collecting pledges (online & in person) towards your frosty plunge into Forest Lake in February! The fundraising site has several great tools to help you maximize your team’s donations. You are given a personal fundraising page and link that you can share via email or social media of your choice. The Rotary Club manages the fundraising site and takes care of all the event day details so you can focus on fundraising and get ready to get COLD for your CAUSE! All kinds of non-profit organizations and community groups participate in the Plunge every year. We welcome non-profit organizations (501c3 & 501c4), civic clubs & organizations (Rotary, Lions, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis etc.), school activities booster clubs, youth sports organizations, animal shelters & rescue organizations, and many more!
The Rotary Club provides fundraising opportunities through Winter Plunge Challenge Pots, sponsored by the Rotary and community sponsors. Challenge Pot incentives are offered throughout the duration of the Winter Plunge fundraising period. A Challenge Pot is available for a specified time frame and is awarded based on the criteria for the Pot. This is a fun way to earn even more for your cause! Follow us on Facebook (@FLRotary) for Plunge updates and the opportunity to raise even more for your organization through our Plunge Challenges! Challenge opportunities are also emailed out to registered participants and team captains!
The event will take place at Lakeside Memorial Park. The Registration/Check In location is TBA. The Winter Plunge will begin at noon and go until all jumpers have taken the Plunge. The jump order will be provided one week prior to the event. There will be a costume contest with prizes awarded for best individual costume and best team costume! Lakes Area TV will be livestreaming the event online and taking pictures of all the Plunges.
The Rotary Club puts on the Winter Plunge fundraiser in an effort to assist non-profit organizations in raising funds. There is significant planning and expense in putting on this event. To cover those costs, as well as raise money for Rotary Club projects, the money raised by each Plunge team is divided between the recipient non-profit organization and the Rotary Club. 70% of the total raised is to the non-profit organization and 30% goes to the Rotary Club of Forest Lake. Challenge Pot income is awarded directly to the organization and is not included in the split.
You can also contact event organizors for questions or to schedule an information session for your group, we would be happy to meet with you! Contact us at [email protected] or call 612-356-2310 for more info.
